Makeup Tips for women over 50..
As one myself it's something I get asked frequently! They say "I wish I knew how to do makeup properly!"
Well these days with technology I can zoom into what you're doing- literally ! But essentially there are a few tips I'd recommend to practice...
I like natural authenticity... I'm not saying raw; but just fresh looking.
1- Start with hydration... our skin tends to dry as we get older and a hydrating serum like Rainforest Dew from Tropic is perfect for retaining and attracting moisture for that youthful bounce.
2- I'd say a little enhancement is better than masking, so using a good concealer in the right places can be the better way. Make sure you get Mr. Gravity as I call it.. the little triangle at the outer corner of the eye that makes the eye seem downwards.. (honestly; it has to be a Mr. as Mrs. wouldn't have allowed that!) and remember not to do what the teens do and spread it all over under the eye or you won't want to laugh! Just under the bag as light colours come forward and dark colours recede so go beneath the bag and into the deeper parts near the bridge of the nose. If you put light onto the bag it will appear to stick out more!
3- Blusher done with lipstick.. a nice plum/blood colour lightly applied to the apples of cheeks looks fresh and dewey like a forest walk, rather than drying powder blusher on the cheekbone (why anyone does that I don't know!)
4- A good mascara! Our lashes thin as we enter our wise years and getting it right to the roots of the lashes can make you look really bright.
5- Frame the eyes and balance the face with filled in eyebrows.. they also tend to thin with age and one client called it an Eyebrow Revelation when I showed her how a little can make such a difference.
But ultimately your beauty comes from within, light itself literally shines out of your face .. it's the radiance of the star quality that is you and only you! Then the frequency of lime, that fresh spring quality that has the vibe of renewal and regeneration, is accessible in your minds eye.. trust the power of this and smile!
Enjoy your Beautiful day

The spirit of a woman ..
She needs no introduction
She is whole and full
She carries the essence of tomorrow with the gravity of yesterday
She embodies the light of all that is and shines it generously on those around her
She is strong like the tree yet fluid like the river
She leaves no trace except that of creation
Human to human
Love to love
She creates and the world becomes better
She glides through time ; history in action .. anchors of memory spotted over the horizon .. seen by all who sailed her ..
Fluidity ; adaptability; the embodiment of change .. able to focus yet not fixed.. guided by intuition and emotion ; flowing flowing into and through the earth
Strength held within softness .. care widespread, martyr even in extreme.. it’s all ok .. it’s always ok …
Yet a voice needs to be heard : See me with your ears; hear me with your eyes .. I am woman, I am full and I am real.
And in return she offers authenticity, a balm for all who need it, a vibration of truth; energised by love and service
How to guide the girls?
How to explain the need for their faith in themselves .. no beauty better than within ; Health glowing in the wholeness of life itself
.........The answer : beacons of light .. essence .. the spirit of a woman ..

BEYOND - summer 2020
Beyond the sky is the silence that is still and pure… on a breathless night with not even the branches being evidence of wind; I stand… alone and yet fully engaged ; fully connected to all at is ..
We are but decorations on the surface of a great master… witness to the dance of life between infinite intelligence and matter.. part of the scheme but by no means the whole story…
In the silence I know I am beyond; I know the beyond is me and All is well…
I stretch my soul in the beyond.. to the unknown known .. to the answers of questions not asked..
For my daily experience is that of constriction and tests of faith … who are we to know what the grand idea is? How does our fear cause concern to the big picture?… best to save our breath for the real quest..
To speakers: send thou right words of love to the conspiracy of men before we get cast asunder..
Beyond this we can speak.. beyond this we can dance together; laugh together and be united in the cause of truth; together we plant the seeds of the future; bountiful abundance for those that hold Love of the highest..
Yet best we not be beholden to judge those that go before us.. perhaps their wisdom is what entitled us to stand tall in the truth of the silence?
Perhaps their silence goes beyond wisdom into knowing, that can be accessed from beneath the sky?
Maybe I can feel this? Maybe I can share this as we are one another in the guise of many…
Maybe our view is only as far as the horizon .. what if we are not alone, alone, all all alone, alone on a wide wide sea…?
Maybe it is time to listen to what is whispered on the breeze..
Maybe it is time not to; and instead to listen to the internal breeze..
Knowing that we can go Beyond…

Why go green?
Health & Beauty are inextricably linked for me; and Conscious Beauty, is a longstanding belief in a better way.
I’ve been a Makeup Artist for 30 years and whilst I’m known for my prosthetics for film, with an Oscar nomination; I had to use a multitude of chemical nasties to do that.
So ‘beauty-wise’ I’ve always been as natural as possible. You eat your lipstick right?..
I used to painstakingly make my own palettes by squishing the ‘good’ ones into trays but the rest of the makeup was ineffective until I discovered Tropic.
I found a beauty company I can believe in with 100% confidence so I became an Independent Ambassador for them.
Vegan, cruelty free, ethical, carbon neutral, biodegradable, refillable and NO nasty chemicals; only a luxurious blend of natural product and efficacy.
Healthwise we all have a ‘toxic body burden’ measurement .. and most people are overloaded from using the 85000 chemicals in the beauty industry as a whole, which therefore impact our immune systems. And to underline this I’d just like to point out that 1 in 8 of those are either carcinogenic or hormone disrupters. So let’s let our immune systems combat the things we can’t change like virus and pollution.
At a deeper level, as a mother of two daughters, I’m passionate about empowering them to connect with their inner beauty instead of their outer image. - Sure I have taught them about makeup because a little outer confidence goes a long way; but its the inner light that matters, not the Insta fakery. ie the brightness of an aligned being naturally; not the caked, masked, dull, toxic and filtered version of ‘beauty’. I lead by example with my Conscious Beauty workshops, online courses and photography and I really hope that during these strange times we will all see the value in a new, healthier, more beautiful way.
Enjoy your beautiful day x
